Day out in Highland Park
Hello Los Angeles!
It’s finally summer in LA, and the beautiful weather means wildflowers in super bloom, outdoor movies, picnics, and rooftop bars. What better way to see the city than by scooter? Skip the 405 and cruise with us instead. We’ve got some fun places for you to check out!

HIPPO
If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat, cruise by Hippo. Not only does the building have high ceilings and instagrammable wall art, but—fun fact—it was previously the Highland Park Post Office, redesigned to fit LA foodie standards. Cuisine is California Italian and the focaccia will make your mouth water with its perfectly salty crust and warm, soft interior. Try their Hamachi crudo with tangerine, lime, mint, and fresh serrano pepper or ceviche with handmade tortilla chips followed by the Sweet Corn Cappellacci, pockets of sweet corn balanced by a savory mushroom sauce. Yes, please.

HIGHLAND PARK BOWL
Once you’ve satisfied your taste buds, zoom on over to Highland Park Bowl, the oldest and coolest bowling alley in all of LA. Once you’ve hit a few strikes, cool off with a Cali Craft Cool Kidz IPA on draft or a craft cocktail, if that’s more your style. Craving something sweet? There’s a Nutella Pizza with strawberries and whipped cream that’s to die for.
Fun fact: during the Prohibition Era, this place was an alcohol-prescribing doctor’s office on the second floor and a pharmacy, music store, and recreation space below. Although restored to mint condition, it’s still the original bowling alley from back in the day, original pin machine in tow.

GOLD LINE BAR
After a full day of exploring, wind down at the Gold Line Bar. If you’re looking for a bar with character and style, look no further. The Gold Line Bar features endless shelves stocked with vinyl records, classic cocktails, and a low-key setup. Not to mention some of LA’s best music.
The bar was formerly home to indie record label Stones Throw Records, founded by Peanut Butter Wolf. When the record label outgrew the space, he converted it into a bar. And with 8,000 of his own records lining the walls, a vintage Rock-Ola jukebox, and a local clientele, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more unique spot in LA.
